Professional Development
for New Teachers: First Days
Welcome to the Professional Development for Excellence in Teaching
series. This series consists of self-directed professional development
modules, each targeting a specific area of focus for improving professional
knowledge and skills. Each module is independent of the others
and is housed on its own CD-ROM. Modules were designed to satisfy
CEU requirements and include documentation forms and activities
for submission to the appropriate personnel within each LEA. Suggestions
for using these modules are located in the How to Use this Module
section.
The series of modules was developed as a collaboration effort between
the Public Schools of North Carolina and the Center for School Leadership
Development under the guidance of Dr. Karen Gerringer. The series
was produced by LEARN North Carolina, the teacher outreach program
at UNC-Chapel Hill School of Education. Each CD may be copied at
no cost and shared with North Carolina educators. To begin this
module, click on the How to Use This Module button located
in the main navigation bar at left.
